Anping Old Street is one of the streets established by the Dutch during their time in Anping. It was originally designed primarily for pedestrians and handcarts, so the street is relatively narrow. Today, almost every visitor to Anping makes a stop at this historic street. The bustling and crowded atmosphere has become a daily scene here and one of the street's distinctive features. Lining both sides of the street are various old shops, and both domestic and international tourists love exploring the area in search of surprises. Occasionally, if you look up at the rooftops of the old houses, you might spot a Wind Lion God placed there, or see a Sword Lion above a doorway—these are unique and delightful discoveries when strolling through the old street.
The old street also hides many small alleys that lead to different corners of Anping, such as Jasmine Alley and Rouge Alley. Each alley offers a different view and experience. The area also preserves many traditional old settlements. Walking through the quiet lanes feels like stepping into a time tunnel, where one can deeply sense the rich historical atmosphere and cultural charm.
