Fugang Geopark (also known as Xiaoyehliu) is located next to Fugang Fishing Harbor. It is named for its diverse and ever-changing sea-eroded terrain, which closely resembles that of Yehliu Geopark on Taiwan's north coast. The park features a wide variety of uniquely shaped rock formations, including tilted ridges, honeycomb rocks, turtle shell rocks, tofu rocks, and mushroom rocks, making the entire area feel like an outdoor art gallery sculpted by nature itself.
The geological layers here are mainly composed of alternating sandstone and shale. Due to the difference in hardness between the two, the rock surfaces have gradually formed wave-like textures under long-term erosion by seawater. The joint patterns are distinct and well-defined, revealing a geometric beauty that appears meticulously carved. With the rhythm of the tides and shifting light under the blue sky, this geological wonder becomes even more magnificent and captivating, as if stepping into a natural stone sculpture museum.
