Wanchangchun Canal Sluice Gate Park
Wanchangchun Canal Sluice Gate Park is located along the lower reaches of the Annong River. Its origins trace back to the Wanchangchun Canal sluice gate, constructed in 1952 (ROC Year 41), which originally served as an important facility for flood control and agricultural irrigation in the area. Over time, the government redeveloped and enhanced the site, transforming it into a park that integrates both ecological and recreational functions.
The park is richly planted with a variety of flowers and trees, presenting different seasonal landscapes throughout the year. With its lush greenery and tranquil environment, it offers a peaceful retreat for visitors. At the center of the park stands the “Changchun Pavilion,” an octagonal gazebo that provides shade and a place for rest, while also serving as a focal point for sightseeing and social interaction. In addition, a stone monument inscribed with the phrase “Ze Guang Chun Chang” is erected within the park, symbolizing the nourishing power of water resources and the enduring blessings they bring to the land.
