Odawara Station

Odawara Station is a major transportation hub located in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, with its address spanning across Sakae-cho 1-chome and Shiroyama 1-chome. This station is jointly operated by several railway companies, including East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central), Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight), Odakyu Electric Railway, Odakyu Hakone, and Izuhakone Railway.

Historically, Odawara has been a key post town and castle town along the Tokaido route, making Odawara Station one of the city's core facilities. Today, the station serves not only as the transportation center of Odawara City but also as a major railway terminal in western Kanagawa Prefecture. Additionally, it is an important gateway to the popular tourist destination of the Hakone area.

As for the station layout, all lines except the Shinkansen use ground-level platforms, while the Shinkansen platforms are elevated. The station facilities are distributed across different floors depending on the operator: the ticket gates and station offices for JR East, Odakyu, and Odakyu Hakone are located on the third floor; JR Central is on the first floor; and Izuhakone Railway is on the second floor. Notably, Odakyu and Odakyu Hakone share the same paid area.
