Hakone-Yumoto Station

Hakone-Yumoto Station is located in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is an important station on the Odakyu Hakone Railway Line (Hakone Tozan Railway), with the station number OH 51. This station is not only the main transportation hub of Hakone Town, but also the starting point for many travelers heading to Hakone's hot springs and nearby tourist attractions. As such, it is considered the gateway to the Hakone area.

The station is currently served by Odakyu Electric Railway's "Romancecar" limited express trains, providing a convenient travel option for passengers coming from Tokyo and other regions. Although express and semi-express trains from the Odawara Line used to run directly to this station, that service was discontinued in 2006. Instead, local trains now run between Odawara and Hakone-Yumoto with slightly increased frequency, using Odakyu rolling stock. These trains feature the same exterior design as other Odakyu Hakone trains but are marked with the Odakyu company logo and are operated in fixed four-car formations.

From Hakone-Yumoto Station, travelers can transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway to reach mountainous areas within Hakone, such as Gora. The station is operated by Odakyu Hakone but is equipped with PASMO electronic ticketing systems compatible with the Odakyu network. It also offers ticketing services for all Odakyu Electric Railway stations.
