Hakone-Yumoto Station Front Shopping Street

Hakone Yumoto Shopping Street is an important gateway to Hakone, located near Hakone Yumoto Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway, which is also a stop for the limited express "Romancecar." Not only is it conveniently accessible, but its charming hot spring town atmosphere and wide variety of shops make it a must-visit spot for strolling travelers.
The shopping street features around 70 shops lining the road, including restaurants, cafés, and souvenir stores, offering a wide range of local delicacies and specialty goods. It's perfect for enjoying snacks on the go and browsing for gifts. Among the most iconic souvenirs are traditional Japanese sweets like hot spring manju (steamed buns with sweet filling) and processed fish cakes known as kamaboko—both long-time favorites among visitors.
Additionally, Hakone’s famous traditional craft, Yosegi Zaiku (marquetry), is widely showcased in various wooden souvenirs, from small ornaments to practical utensils, demonstrating the fine craftsmanship and regional character of the area. Many dessert shops also feature creative designs and elegant plating, making their products popular photo spots on social media and attracting many travelers to stop and shop.
If you get tired from walking, there are plenty of cafés and light meal shops along the street that provide a nice place to relax. Nearby the station, there are also hot spring facilities available for day-use, allowing visitors to enjoy a rejuvenating soak during their trip. In front of Hakone Yumoto Station, the "Hakone Town Tourist Information Center" offers services in English, Chinese, and Korean, along with maps and information about the surrounding areas.
