Kaohsiung Port Passenger Terminal

The Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal, located at Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Port, is one of the key facilities in both the “Kaohsiung Port Passenger Zone” and the “Asia New Bay Area” development project. The terminal features a silver-white structure resembling a ship's hull, with an exterior that looks like a giant cruise ship with a tall smokestack, showcasing strong maritime imagery and modern architectural language.
With a total floor area of approximately 80,774 square meters, the terminal is built using a steel frame structure and comprises 15 above-ground floors and 2 basement levels. The facility is capable of simultaneously accommodating two 225,000-ton international cruise ships, each carrying up to 5,400 passengers and 2,400 crew members. The terminal can serve up to 2,000 travelers per hour, effectively managing large passenger volumes entering and exiting the port.
In terms of design, the terminal emphasizes integration with the urban environment and provides multifunctional waterfront spaces for commercial and recreational use. It is not only a transportation hub but also a public living space for the port city. As a major gateway for maritime passenger transport in Kaohsiung, the surrounding area is equipped with convenient transit systems that connect to the Kaohsiung Circular Light Rail and the under-construction Yellow Metro Line, offering travelers easier mobility and further strengthening Kaohsiung’s role and image as an international port city.
