Blueprint Cultural and Creative Park

Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park is a small cultural and creative space that blends history and creativity, located on Section 1, Ximen Road in the South District of Tainan City. Formerly a judicial dormitory, the site was redesigned and officially opened to the public on December 12, 2015. It has since become a significant venue for art exhibitions, creative markets, and artistic creation.

The park's name originates from the "Blueprint" artwork—a street installation created by architect Liu Guo-Tsang in 2004, titled Blueprint of an Abandoned House. Installed on a wall along Section 2 of Hai’an Road, it depicted architectural outlines in blueprint style, evoking a sense of imagined life within a ruined building. The work was once one of Tainan’s iconic street art pieces but was painted over in February 2014 when the building owner reclaimed the wall.

To preserve this meaningful piece of urban memory, Tainan City’s Cultural Affairs Bureau invited Liu Guo-Tsang to recreate the installation. On December 5 of the same year, a three-dimensional blueprint structure was installed at the park's entrance as a visual symbol of the entire space. This not only gave the park a distinctive artistic identity but also transformed the original street art into a part of the city’s cultural heritage.

Today, the Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park blends tradition with innovation, hosting various art and cultural events and exhibitions throughout the year. It attracts numerous visitors and local residents, making it one of the South District's most vibrant cultural landmarks.
