Autumn Red Valley Ecological Park, also known as Autumn Red Valley Plaza or Landscape Ecological Park, is a multifunctional urban green space located in Taichung’s 7th Redevelopment Zone in Xitun District. Covering about 3 hectares, it sits adjacent to major roads such as Taiwan Boulevard, Chaofu Road, Shizheng North 7th Road, and Henan Road. Despite its location in a bustling area, it is often described as an “urban oasis” and hailed as the “lung of the city.”

It is the first sunken flood detention basin park in Taiwan, designed not only for flood mitigation but also emphasizing people-centered planning and environmental sustainability. The park's lake provides irrigation for the plants, while the backfill soil comes from the Dali River dredging project, reflecting principles of green energy and resource recycling.

Upon entering the park, visitors are greeted by a distinctive sunken plaza and red wood-chip trails that are soft underfoot and subtly fragrant. Benches line the lake, where shimmering water and schools of small fish enhance the tranquil atmosphere. Surrounding plants like ti plants, weeping willows, soapberry trees, and Chinese pistache add to the natural charm and serve as tools for environmental education.

Whether day or night, the park draws locals and tourists alike for walking, relaxing, or enjoying the night view. At night, lights reflecting on the water create a poetic ambiance, making it one of the rare quiet green spaces in the city. Autumn Red Valley Park exemplifies the harmony of ecological function and urban aesthetics in public space design.
