Yuemey Artificial Wetland Ecological Park

Located in Daxi District, Taoyuan City, just about a 10-minute drive from the historic Daxi Old Street, the Yuemei Artificial Wetland Ecological Park is a natural green space combining ecological conservation, landscape aesthetics, and environmental education. Accessible via the Yuemei Leisure Agriculture Area, it feels like a hidden paradise on the city’s outskirts.

In 2019, over 300 aquatic bald cypress trees were planted in the park. After several years of growth, they now form lush canopies. During autumn and winter, the trees turn from green to brilliant shades of orange, red, and yellow, reflecting on the water’s surface like a natural painting. In spring and summer, the park showcases refreshing greenery alongside the wetland ponds, offering a similarly serene atmosphere.

The Yuemei Wetland not only offers scenic beauty throughout the year but also features a well-designed ecological system. Its water purification system follows a process of "regulation pond → grass marsh → pond wetland → forest marsh → ecological pond," which slows water flow and reduces up to 60% of pollutants, functioning as a natural filter. It also provides ideal habitats for various species, attracting fish, waterfowl, and insects, making it a valuable site for both education and ecological observation.
