Hongshulin Station

Hongshulin Station is located in Waiganjenlin, Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It serves as an interchange station between the Taipei Metro Tamsui-Xinyi Line (Tamsui Line) and the New Taipei Metro Danhai Light Rail Green Mountain Line, making it an important transportation hub.

The station sits near the intersection of Zhongzheng East Road and Bashi Road, close to Tamsui-Kimshan Highway (popularly known as “Denghui Avenue”). During MRT construction, it was temporarily named “Ganjhen” after the local place name, but before opening it was officially renamed “Hongshulin,” symbolizing the nearby mangrove ecosystem of viviparous plants. The station codes are R27 (Tamsui-Xinyi Line) and V01 (Danhai Light Rail).

Located only about 200 meters from the junction of Provincial Highway No. 2 and No. 2B, the station offers convenient highway access to Taiwan’s North Coast. It not only functions as a transfer point between MRT and light rail but also as a key transport hub for the coastal region. With the opening of the Tamsui Line and the boom of riverside residential development, the area around Hongshulin Station has rapidly grown with new apartment complexes. The station frontage along Zhongzheng East Road is well landscaped, while directly behind lies the Hongshulin Nature Reserve, combining urban convenience with natural ecology.

On the west side of the station is the Hongshulin Eco-Exhibition Center, where visitors can learn about mangrove ecology and the importance of conservation.
