Yura Station is located in the Yura-shuku area of Hokuei Town, Tottori Prefecture, Japan. It is a local station on the San’in Main Line operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and also serves as one of the area’s most recognizable gateways for tourism. As this town is the hometown of Gōshō Aoyama, the creator of the famous manga Detective Conan, the station is affectionately nicknamed “Conan Station.” The station’s overall design incorporates numerous elements from the series, from interior decorations to the surrounding landscape, creating a strong anime-themed atmosphere that is especially popular with fans and visitors.
The station is managed by the Tottori Railway Division of JR West, while day-to-day operations are entrusted to its Yonago maintenance unit. In terms of train services, about half of the rapid “Tottori Liner” trains running between Tottori City and Izumo City stop at this station, giving Yura Station a meaningful role in both local transportation and tourist routes.
Yura Station is a ground-level station with two platforms and three tracks, consisting of one side platform and one island platform. Platform 1, adjacent to the station building, is used for both inbound and outbound main-line services, and most trains stop here. Platforms 2 and 3 are located on the island platform and are accessed via a pedestrian overpass. Notably, some limited express “Super Hakuto” trains that terminate at Kurayoshi Station continue on to Yura Station before reversing direction, adding a distinctive operational pattern to this otherwise local station.
