Kabukichō

Kabukicho is a renowned district located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, famous for its wide range of entertainment facilities and vibrant nightlife. The area is home to numerous restaurants, cinemas, amusement centers, and various entertainment businesses. It is one of Tokyo's most iconic entertainment districts and is also considered one of the few large red-light districts in Japan.

Geographically, Kabukicho is roughly bordered by Meiji-dori to the east, Yasukuni-dori to the south, the JR Chuo Line to the west, and Shokuan-dori to the north. It can be accessed by walking from the East Exit of Shinjuku Station and crossing Yasukuni-dori. Nearby stations also include Seibu Shinjuku Station, Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station and Higashi-Shinjuku Station on the Toei Oedo Line, making transportation very convenient.

The streets within Kabukicho are complex and bustling, including areas such as Theater Avenue (also known as Kabukicho Ichibangai), Sakura-dori, Seibu Shinjuku-dori, Higashi-dori, and Ward Office Street, creating a dense and lively urban layout. The district is divided into two parts: Kabukicho 1-chome to the south of Hanazono-dori and 2-chome to the north.

Known as the "city that never sleeps," Kabukicho remains brightly lit and lively even late into the night, creating a unique urban rhythm and atmosphere. The area is not only filled with cinemas, bars, nightclubs, karaoke venues, and love hotels, but also features various forms of adult entertainment, making Kabukicho an important place to observe urban nightlife and cultural phenomena. One of the most iconic landmarks in the area is the Toho Shinjuku Building.
