Wuqi Marine Station

Wuqi Marine Station is a unique site along Taichung’s coastal area that combines marine education and recreational functions. It was established by the Coast Guard Administration in line with the government’s “Salute to the Sea” policy and is one of 12 marine stations across Taiwan. The station revitalizes existing office space to create a multifunctional venue for both exhibitions and public services, aiming to raise awareness of marine conservation and the work of the Coast Guard.

Located near the Wuqi Tourist Fishery Harbor, Gaomei Wetlands, and the future Taichung Marine Biology Museum, the station enjoys convenient transportation access and serves as a key hub for Taichung’s coastal tourism. The building is styled with Mediterranean architecture, featuring white walls and blue windows that evoke a strong maritime atmosphere, making it a local architectural highlight.

Inside the station, exhibition areas showcase information and achievements from the National Academy of Marine Research, the Ocean Conservation Administration, and the Coast Guard Administration. It also provides visitor-friendly amenities such as drinking fountains, accessible restrooms, nursing rooms, rinse-off areas, and VR experience devices. The station strives to offer a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests. During opening hours, professional Coast Guard personnel offer guided tours to help visitors better understand marine issues and daily Coast Guard operations.

For guided tours, visitors may call or send a private message to the official Facebook fan page to make a reservation.
