The Hsinchu Children's Discovery Museum is located in the East District of Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It was formerly known as the Hsinchu Pavilion of the Taiwan Pavilion at Expo 2010 (also called the Hsinchu Sky Lantern Pavilion). Originally, the building served as Taiwan’s representative pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. After the Expo concluded, Hsinchu City acquired the pavilion, and Dahsin Construction undertook its reconstruction. On February 21, 2013, the venue, blending modern architecture with innovative concepts, officially reopened in Hsinchu.

The original Taiwan Pavilion ceased operations on June 30, 2016, after more than three years in service. Later, on September 4, 2017, with a donation from MediaTek, the Hsinchu City Government initiated plans to transform the building into a children's discovery museum. During the transformation, the high-maintenance spherical LED lighting was removed, though the overall exterior was preserved. New features such as a sky viewing area and a parent-child reading zone were added to provide a more suitable space for family visits and learning.
