Qingjing Farm

Qingjing Farm is located in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, at an altitude of approximately 1,700 to 2,000 meters. It is operated by the Veterans Affairs Council of the Republic of China and functions as a state-owned enterprise. Along with Wuling Farm and Fushoushan Farm, it is recognized as one of Taiwan’s three major high mountain farms and is often referred to as the "Alps of Taiwan" due to its picturesque scenery. Covering an area of about 760 hectares, the farm is also known for its local cuisine, which features distinctive Yunnan and Burmese flavors.
Situated along the Wushe Branch of the Central Cross-Island Highway (Provincial Highway 14A), Qingjing Farm has rapidly become a popular tourist destination in Taiwan in recent years. The farm is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, including Hehuan Mountain, Qilai Mountain, and Nenggao Mountain. Due to its location on the main route to the snow-viewing areas of Hehuan Mountain, the farm attracts large crowds during the winter season, with visitors flocking to enjoy the snow.
One of the farm’s main attractions is its vast, lush Green Green Grasslands, a favorite spot for photography. The grazing sheep wandering leisurely across the fields are a major highlight for tourists. The sheep-shearing show, which began in 1997, is another popular attraction. With its blend of alpine and grassland landscapes, Qingjing Farm offers a strong European ambiance. Many local guesthouses feature European-style architecture and unique designs, making them a highlight of the area. However, in reality, the styles of the guesthouses vary greatly, lacking harmony with one another and often clashing with the surrounding tea plantations. Moreover, overdevelopment and the influx of tourists and vehicles have led to growing problems with environmental pollution and noise. As a result, the once-tranquil mountain forests have increasingly become a bustling getaway for city dwellers seeking relaxation.
