The Sapporo TV Tower (さっぽろテレビ塔), also known as the Sapporo Tower, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Primarily serving as a signal transmission facility for television and FM radio broadcasts, the tower was officially opened in 1957. Located in Odori Park in Chuo Ward, Sapporo, the TV tower is a central venue for major annual events such as the Sapporo Snow Festival and the Flower Festival. The strip of commercial area on both sides of Odori Park hosts the headquarters of many local Hokkaido companies, as well as the Hokkaido branches of major corporations from across Japan. In 2013, the Sapporo TV Tower underwent a repainting project that refreshed its exterior appearance.
