Qingtang Park

Qingtang Park is located in Qingpu, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, near the Taoyuan High-Speed Rail Station, covering an area of about 6.34 hectares. The site was originally a farm irrigation pond (Taoyuan Canal Reservoirs No. 6–8) managed by the Taoyuan Irrigation Association, serving both as an agricultural water source and a flood-control facility. With the development of the Qingpu area, the Taoyuan City Government redeveloped it into an ecological park, transforming the former water infrastructure into an urban green space and recreational area.

The park’s design integrates ecological conservation with recreational needs. Facilities such as gently sloped waterside areas, observation decks, wooden boardwalks, pedestrian trails, and an outdoor theater were added, making it a multifunctional park suitable for strolling, relaxing, and hosting events. Its spatial design has been recognized and has received awards in Taiwan for public architecture.

Inside the park, aquatic plants thrive throughout the pond, creating a rich ecological environment. During summer, the expansive lotus pond blossoms beautifully, attracting many visitors. Whether by day or at dusk, Qingtang Park is a popular destination for families and couples to take walks, as well as for photographers seeking to capture both natural and cultural scenery.
