Fenghe Park

Fenghe Park, located in Taoyuan City, covers an area of about 4.8 hectares. It is Taiwan’s first park that combines disaster-prevention and evacuation functions with ecological conservation and family recreation, earning it the reputation of being a large-scale urban adventure playground. The park is not only a place where children can have fun but also a relaxing retreat for parents to enjoy family time.

The park features a wide variety of children’s play facilities, including sandpits, wooden balance beams, swings, and rocking horses. The highlight is the slide area, designed according to the natural terrain, inspired by Urasoe Da Park in Okinawa. It includes six terrazzo slides and one 50-meter-long roller slide. The steep drops and sharp turns provide thrilling experiences, making it so popular that children are willing to wait in line repeatedly.

At the center of the park lies a vast grassy field, perfect for flying kites, playing soccer, tossing frisbees, or blowing bubbles. Families and friends can also spread picnic blankets and enjoy a casual outdoor party.

Fenghe Park also emphasizes environmental education and nature exploration. Along the walking trails, trees such as camphor, wax apple, mango, fringe tree, chinaberry, and flame tree are planted, allowing families to learn about plants during a stroll. The park also has four ecological ponds, supplied by water from the Taoyuan Canal (Branch 1 and Pond 1–12). In the ponds, aquatic plants such as Nuphar shimadai, water dropwort, and arrowhead can be found. Visitors can cross man-made bridges or follow the trails around the ponds for close-up observation.

In addition, several wooden installations from the 2017 Taoyuan International Driftwood Art Festival have been preserved in the park. These creative wooden artworks harmonize with the natural surroundings, adding an artistic atmosphere to the park experience.
