Guishan No.1 Riverside Park

First Riverside Park is located along the Nankan River, featuring clear waters and scenic green spaces. After restoration efforts, the riverbanks have attracted many waterfowl, turning the park into a rare ecological haven within the city. The area is equipped with well-maintained cycling paths and pedestrian trails, offering a comfortable and pleasant environment whether you are cycling leisurely along the riverside or strolling with pets.

At the park entrance stands the Plum Blossom Plaza, with a canopy shaped like a five-petaled plum blossom. It symbolizes the spirit of the nearby Lukang Second Military Dependents’ Village — “love family, love country, love community” — and serves as a reminder of the region’s military village culture. Within the park, several retired military weapons are displayed, including an F-5F fighter jet, an M41A3 light tank, and a U.S.-made M1 40mm anti-aircraft gun. These exhibits allow military enthusiasts to view them up close, while also providing educational value.

The most iconic landmark of the park is the Xingyue Bridge (Star-Moon Bridge). Painted in light blue curves, it resembles a roller coaster when seen against the sky. It looks bright and elegant by day, while at night it is illuminated with colorful lights, creating a romantic and enchanting atmosphere that has made it a popular photo spot.

In addition to family-friendly spaces, the park also features an ice-skating rink, basketball courts, tennis courts, croquet courts, and a recreation area designed for seniors, offering facilities that cater to visitors of all ages.
