Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe

Located near Noboribetsu Onsen in Hokkaido, Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe is an aquarium designed in the style of a European castle. Its architecture is inspired by Egeskov Castle, a Renaissance-era castle in Denmark, and the entire building itself is a spectacular aquarium. Inside, it houses around 400 species and more than 20,000 marine creatures in total.
One of the most eye-catching attractions is the “Galaxy Tank,” a large aquarium filled with thousands of shimmering sardines swimming gracefully, creating a mesmerizing and dreamlike scene. The facility also features the largest jellyfish tank in Hokkaido, enhanced by a stunning light show that makes visitors feel as if they’ve entered a magical undersea world.
In addition to marine exhibits, the park also offers exciting dolphin shows and the ever-popular penguin parade. Watching the adorable penguins waddle past visitors always brings smiles to both children and adults alike. The aquarium’s glass tunnel walkway is another highlight, giving the sensation of strolling through a mysterious underwater realm—making it a perfect destination for family trips and outings with children.
