Gangbin Historical Park, seamlessly connected to Lin Mo-niang Park, forms one of the most scenic waterfront green belts of Anping Harbor. Entering from the east side feels like walking through a historic corridor, with stone monuments narrating the centuries-old stories of Tainan. It is both a playground for families and pets, and a tranquil space for reading or watching the sunset. As dusk falls, the harbor is bathed in golden light, especially poetic when viewed through the mouth of the sculpture “The Blessing of the Whale.”

This iconic artwork invites visitors inside the giant white fish. From its second floor, the blue steel frames and triangular mesh overhead create a wave-like play of light and shadow. The slightly raised tail symbolizes hope and freedom, while 448 stained-glass panels forming the island of Taiwan are embedded at the mouth, signifying love and inclusiveness for all who visit. By day, laughter fills the sculpture as children explore; by night, its illumination blends with harbor reflections, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere.
