Leigongpi Park is located in Yonghe Village, Yuanshan Township, Yilan County. It is a destination that combines natural ecology with recreational functions. According to local legend, Leigongpi was originally a small ditch. After being struck by lightning, the soil on both sides collapsed, eventually forming the pond landscape seen today. Leigongpi is a natural spring-fed lake, divided by terrain into the Upper Pond and Lower Pond. The Lower Pond is larger, with clear and transparent water and an abundance of fish, attracting many anglers.
To enhance the quality of recreation, the Yuanshan Township Office has installed comprehensive facilities in the park, including washing stations, a lakeside trail, fishing platforms, and night lighting, providing visitors with a comfortable and convenient leisure environment. During the winter season, the park also becomes a habitat for migratory birds, making it an ideal spot for observing winter birds and adding to the appeal and value of ecological tourism.
