What is PM10

PM10 refers to inhalable particulate matter with a diameter of less than 10 micrometers, about 1/7 the width of a human hair. Although larger than PM2.5 and less likely to penetrate deep into the alveoli, these particles can still enter the respiratory tract, causing coughing, asthma, and respiratory irritation. Long-term exposure to high concentrations of PM10 may also negatively affect respiratory and cardiovascular health.
